Fasting enables us to celebrate the goodness and mercy of God. It prepares our hearts for all the good things God desires to bring into our lives. When deciding on a fast, we encourage you to seek God in prayer and follow what the Holy Spirit leads you to do.
ROCK Church – 21-day fast timetable starting from Saturday, January 11th 6pm. The focus is on a daily Bible verse, a “Word for Today” tip, and a prayer for each day. I’ll divide the plan into three main themes: Spiritual Growth, Renewal of Mind, and Empowerment. These three themes will help guide your journey through the fast, focusing on aligning with God’s will and strengthening your spirit.
Day 1: Saturday, January 11th – Setting the Foundation
Bible Verse: Matthew 6:33 – “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”
Word for Today: Start your fast with the focus on God’s kingdom. Place God first in every area of your life during this fast.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I dedicate this fast to You. Help me seek Your will and Your kingdom above all else. Strengthen me as I embark on this journey to deepen my relationship with You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Day 2: Sunday, January 12th – Faith and Trust
Bible Verse: Proverbs 3:5-6 – “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”
Word for Today: Trust in God completely, even when the path is unclear. Allow Him to direct your steps during this time.
Prayer: Lord, I surrender my understanding and trust in You. Guide my steps during this fast and let Your will be done in my life. Amen.
Day 3: Monday, January 13th – Holiness and Purity
Bible Verse: 1 Peter 1:16 – “Because it is written, ‘Be holy, for I am holy.'”
Word for Today: Focus on living a holy life. This fast is an opportunity for cleansing and rededicating yourself to God.
Prayer: Father, purify my heart and mind as I seek Your holiness. Help me walk in purity and righteousness today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Day 4: Tuesday, January 14th – Patience and Endurance
Bible Verse: Romans 5:3-4 – “Not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope.”
Word for Today: Let patience have its perfect work in you. Endure the discomfort of fasting, knowing it is shaping your character.
Prayer: Lord, teach me patience and endurance in this fast. Strengthen my faith through the trials I face. Amen.
Day 5: Wednesday, January 15th – Inner Peace
Bible Verse: Philippians 4:6-7 – “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
Word for Today: Let go of anxiety. Trust God with every concern, and experience His peace.
Prayer: Lord, I lay my anxieties at Your feet. Fill my heart with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Day 6: Thursday, January 16th – Spiritual Discipline
Bible Verse: 1 Timothy 4:7 – “But reject profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise yourself toward godliness.”
Word for Today: Discipline yourself in the spiritual practices of prayer, reading the Word, and fasting. Stay focused and committed.
Prayer: Father, help me remain disciplined and steadfast in my spiritual practices. Strengthen my resolve during this fast. Amen.
Day 7: Friday, January 17th – Gratitude
Bible Verse: 1 Thessalonians 5:18 – “In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
Word for Today: Cultivate a heart of gratitude. Thank God for everything, both big and small.
Prayer: Lord, I thank You for Your goodness and grace. Teach me to be thankful in all circumstances. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Day 8: Saturday, January 18th – Renewing the Mind
Bible Verse: Romans 12:2 – “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
Word for Today: Focus on renewing your mind through God’s Word. Reject worldly thinking and allow God to transform your thoughts.
Prayer: Lord, renew my mind through Your Word. Help me think like You, act like You, and live according to Your will. Amen.
Day 9: Sunday, January 19th – Power of Prayer
Bible Verse: James 5:16 – “The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.”
Word for Today: Make prayer a priority today. Let your prayers be fervent and powerful, and trust that God is hearing you.
Prayer: Father, hear my prayers today. I know that my prayers are powerful when they are in alignment with Your will. Help me to pray earnestly. Amen.
Day 10: Monday, January 20th– Confidence in Christ
Bible Verse: Philippians 4:13 – “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Word for Today: Remember that you are not fasting in your own strength. Christ strengthens you to endure and succeed.
Prayer: Lord, I thank You for giving me strength. Help me to rely on Your power as I continue this fast. Amen.
Day 11: Tuesday, January 21st – Humility
Bible Verse: James 4:10 – “Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.”
Word for Today: Seek humility today. Understand that true elevation comes from God.
Prayer: Father, help me walk in humility. Let me remain dependent on You, knowing You will lift me up in due time. Amen.
Day 12: Wednesday, January 22nd – Strengthening Your Faith
Bible Verse: Mark 9:24 – “Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, ‘Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!'”
Word for Today: Pray for stronger faith. Acknowledge areas where doubt may exist and ask God to help you believe fully.
Prayer: Lord, I believe in You, but help my unbelief. Strengthen my faith as I continue on this fast. Amen.
Day 13: Thursday, January 23rd– Living in the Spirit
Bible Verse: Galatians 5:16 – “I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.”
Word for Today: Walk in the Spirit today. Allow the Holy Spirit to guide and empower you throughout this fast.
Prayer: Holy Spirit, guide my steps today. Help me to walk in Your strength and power, not in my own. Amen.
Day 14: Friday, January 24th – Breaking Strongholds
Bible Verse: 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 – “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God…”
Word for Today: Ask God to break strongholds in your life. Renounce any areas where the enemy has had control.
Prayer: Lord, break every stronghold in my life. I surrender all areas of my heart to You. Set me free in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Day 15: Saturday, January 25th – Joy and Gratitude
Bible Verse: Nehemiah 8:10 – “Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”
Word for Today: Find joy in the Lord today. Let His joy strengthen you, especially during challenging moments in the fast.
Prayer: Father, fill me with Your joy today. Strengthen me with Your joy as I continue this fast. Amen.
Day 16: Sunday , January 26th – Surrender to God’s Will
Bible Verse: Luke 22:42 – “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless, not My will, but Yours, be done.”
Word for Today: Surrender your will to God. Trust that His plan for your life is greater than your own desires.
Prayer: Lord, not my will, but Your will be done in my life. I surrender everything to You. Amen.
Day 17: Monday, January 27th – Walking in Authority
Bible Verse: Luke 10:19 – “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”
Word for Today: Walk in the authority that Christ has given you. Rebuke any attacks of the enemy and claim victory in Jesus’ name.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for the authority You’ve given me. I declare victory over the enemy today in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Day 18: Tuesday, January 28th – Loving Others
Bible Verse: John 13:34-35 – “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.”
Word for Today: Reflect on God’s love for you and extend that love to others.
Prayer: Father, help me love others as You have loved me. Let my actions reflect Your love today. Amen.
Day 19: Wednesday, January 29th – Gratitude for God’s Provision
Bible Verse: Philippians 4:19 – “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
Word for Today: Acknowledge God’s provision. Trust that He will provide for all your needs during this fast and beyond.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for providing for all my needs. I trust in Your abundant provision. Amen.
Day 20: Thursday, January 30th– Healing
Bible Verse: Isaiah 53:5 – “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes, we are healed.”
Word for Today: Pray for healing in your body, mind, and spirit. Trust that God’s healing power is at work.
Prayer: Lord, by Your stripes, I am healed. I claim physical, emotional, and spiritual healing today. Amen.
Day 21: Friday, January 31st – Completion and Victory
Bible Verse: 2 Timothy 4:7 – “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
Word for Today: You have made it to the end of the fast. Celebrate the victory and trust God for continued growth and transformation.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for helping me complete this fast. I praise You for the victory and the transformation You’ve brought into my life. Amen
Saturday, 1st February– New Beginnings and Renewal
Bible Verse: Isaiah 43:19 – “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”
Word for Today:
This new month marks the beginning of a fresh season in your life. As you step into February, embrace the new things God is doing. Leave behind the past and trust Him for a renewal of your spirit, mind, and body.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for the new beginnings You bring. I trust that You are making a way for me, even in the most challenging circumstances. Help me to perceive the new things You are doing in my life, and may I walk confidently in Your plans for me. Amen.
